Simona joins 2D Photonics from Expedia Group, where she spent over 14 years in progressively senior financial leadership roles leading teams across Rome, London and Seattle. Most recently, she served as Finance & Analytics Director for Business & Organizational Transformation, driving cross-functional finance strategy and customer loyalty performance measurement across multiple geographies.

Prior to that, she held roles as Director of Corporate Finance (FP&A) for the Hotels.com global brand and Senior Commercial Finance Manager for partnership and business development. Earlier in her career, Simona held financial management and profit forecasting responsibilities at Procter & Gamble, focusing on the pharmaceutical business unit.

“Simona’s depth of experience across global organisations and her ability to integrate financial insight with operational execution make her a tremendous addition to our leadership team,” said Ben Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of 2D Photonics. “Her proven track record in managing large-scale finance functions and enabling business transformation will be instrumental as we move from advanced R&D into manufacturing and global commercialisation.”

In her new role, Simona will oversee the Group’s financial operations, planning, and investor relations, supporting 2D Photonics’ strategic roadmap as it scales its innovative photonics solutions for AI, telecom and data-infrastructure markets.
She will also lead initiatives to strengthen financial governance, performance visibility, and capital efficiency as the company accelerates international growth.

“I’m delighted to join 2D Photonics at such an exciting moment in its journey,” said Simona Vinci.

“The company’s technology has extraordinary potential to reshape how data moves across global networks. I look forward to working with the leadership team and investors to support our growth trajectory and deliver financial discipline that underpins innovation at scale.”
